With just five days left until the royal wedding, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ceremony is undergoing a major change.
Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, will no longer be attending the royal nuptials or walking his daughter down the aisle, according to a statement released by Kensington Palace. The statement reads, “This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”
Though the palace initially confirmed Markle’s dad would be giving his daughter away on her wedding day, plans have changed due to his health and a clash with royal protocol.
Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, arrived in London on Friday, so it’s likely that she’ll come to the rescue and wear all the parental hats fascinators during the event. Ragland is already set to stay in her daughter’s hotel suite the night before the wedding and will also accompany her to St. George’s cathedral on the day of.
Who run the royal wedding? Doria.
