When we think of McDonald’s, we don’t automatically think healthy (especially after a late-night snack of Big Macs and french fries). But the fast-food chain may be changing that, thanks to a new vegan burger option.
For now, the Golden Arches is just testing the (Scandinavian) waters by debuting the McVegan burger (yes, that’s the real name) in Tampere, Finland, for the rest of October and most of November. But if all goes well, we may be seeing the healthier burger option stateside soon.
The burger is a soy veggie patty topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup and mustard (no cheese, obvi) and then finished with a “vegan McFeast sauce” (the fun they must have in that naming boardroom...), according to the McDonald’s Finland website.
OK, so it’s not exactly a McSalad Shaker (who else misses those as much as we do?), but when it comes to more virtuous fast food, we’ll take whatever we can get.
