Now, much like their Passport to Paris days, their outfits didn’t match exactly. Mary-Kate donned a full-length buttoned-up black coat with flared cuffs. She added texture to her look with a black top handle crocodile purse and a pop of color with red pointed-toe Manolo Blahnik kitten heel mules.
Ashley, on the other hand, opted for a fitted knee-length blazer with rolled sleeves, a black camisole and wide-legged oversize trousers. She accessorized the look with a black box clutch and a long gold necklace. (Very on-brand and witchy chic, no?) Both sported their signature boho-meets-French-girl waves in a middle part and appeared to be wearing clothing from their The Row and Elizabeth and James lines.
The twins are notoriously private about their lives and rarely attend public events separately—let alone together. In an uncharacteristically candid interview last August, they explained why they’re not like other twins.
“It’s been 32 years of learning how to communicate,” Ashley said. That deep level of understanding has led the sisters’ relationship to become something like a “marriage and a partnership,” never mind that Ashley is legally wed to Olivier Sarkozy. They admitted they’ve “had ups and downs,” but that they still “do everything together.”
Mary Kate added: “We came out of the womb doing that.”
Let their matching all-black ensembles be proof.
