We Can't Get Over the Special Meaning Behind ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Season 2 Soundtrack

If there’s one thing we love more than Midge’s (Rachel Brosnahan) retro chic wardrobe on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, it’s the show’s soothing soundtrack.

So, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that season two is not only filled with a slew of throwbacks—like “Just Leave Everything to Me” by Barbra Streisand—but it also features a hidden meaning that is making us scream, “Yaaasss!”

As Bustle points out, the writers purposely included songs like “Tell That Girl to Shut Up” by Transvision Vamp to show how not much has changed since the ’50s. While they did include a few joke tracks—like “There’s No Business Like Show Business” by Mary Hopkin—we applaud them for touching the women’s movement without shoving it in our face.

BRB, adding every song to our Spotify playlist.
