Ripa and Consuelos recently announced that they were adapting Garcia’s gothic horror novel in August. The story follows Noemí Taboada, a young woman who investigates her cousin's claims that her husband is trying to kill her.
When Ripa was in a bidding war for the rights, Consuelos explained that she was very determined. He said, "She believed in it. She got on the horn with the writer… and she got a phone and she talked about her vision for what the show could be, and it works. And we, she… we won, we literally won this, you know, this opportunity to make the show with Hulu."
Aside from their Hulu project, the pair has also teamed up with Lifetime to produce two real-life adaptation films, which will premiere in 2021. In a joint statement, Ripa and Consuelos said, "As longtime true crime fans, there is nothing more thrilling than tuning into a Lifetime original movie. We are so excited to be working with Paul, Tanya, and their incredibly talented team to bring these Ripped from the Headlines stories to the screen.”
Basically, these two are giving us more than enough reasons to look forward to 2021.
