Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T are reflecting on their 20-year friendship, and now we’re turning the channel to USA for a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit marathon.
In honor of the season 20 premiere on September 27, the pair appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and gushed over their off-screen bond. “People throw the word family around, but after 20 years, it’s true—it’s the real deal,” the actress said.
Hargitay and Ice-T met on the set of SVU in 1999. Although they didn’t know each other before the show, they developed a bond and eventually realized that they used to be neighbors.
“We could see each other’s house from where we lived in Los Angeles, but we didn’t know each other,” Ice said. “It was just odd, it was weird, and now here we are together.”
“Meant to be,” Hargitay added, and we couldn’t agree more.
