Although Carey wasn't too thrilled about the look, it was certainly good enough for Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel on Friends. In the comments section, she wrote, "LOVE IT," adding a fire emoji. Plus, countless other celebrities and followers showered the star with compliments about her stylish 'do.
Kerry Washington wrote, "Nailed it!!!!!" Another fan chimed in, "Uhm Mariah, that's not a sad attempt. That's an iconic concert hairstyle we all know and love!"
Carey is just one of many who were inspired to recreate the character's signature look, which was created by stylist Chris McMillan. And if you recall, Aniston was pretty transparent about how challenging it was to maintain the popular style. At the 2018 InStyle Awards, she joked, “I got that haircut and was like, ‘Wow this is amazing,’ and then I was totally left with this Greek frizzy mop on my head because I had no idea how to do what he did. Nobody seems to know how to do what Chris does. And I figured out that’s called creating job security.”
Additionally, Aniston revealed to Glamour in 2015 that she was never a big fan of the hairstyle, adding that it was "kind of cringe-y" for her. Even so, any fan would agree that both Aniston and Carey totally rock this style.
