Say hello to Suicide Squad's better-looking sister! Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are (re)teaming up in a new Joker and Harley Quinn film.
Leto and Robbie, who portrayed the villainous characters Joker and Harley Quinn in the 2016 flop Suicide Squad, are set to reprise their roles in the new “criminal” love story adaptation. Not to mention, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, part of the dream team behind NBC's hit drama This Is Us, are in final negotiations to pen and produce the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
But don’t hold your breath for a romantic story à la The Notebook. (Although, Jared Leto isn't too shabby as a Ryan Gosling replacement.) As we (unfortunately) learned from Suicide Squad, the Joker and Harley Quinn's love story is way more Sid and Nancy than Noah and Allie. And, according to THR, the film is being described as “When Harry Met Sally on Benzedrine.” OK, then.
So, is anyone else wondering why Warner Bros. is even bothering with a Suicide Squad 2 film?
