Moore has been teasing new music for the past few months—sharing photos and short clips of herself in the recording studio.
In her most recent post from Tuesday morning, she shared a message for fans.
“It’s been ten years since I’ve released music and to be able to confidently step back in to this world with some of my very favorite humans and artists beside me (@taylordawesgoldsmith, @themikeviola, @dawestheband and @herbadams) is something else all together,” she captioned the post. “I’m thrilled to share the first track from my forthcoming record. It’s been a bit of a winding road to get here but so worth it. More to come!”
Yup, an album is on the way and is set to be released on Verve Forecast early next year. Moore has been working on the album with long-time collaborator Mike Viola (who produced “When I Wasn’t Watching”), along with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith.
“I watch her light up as she gets to express herself again as a songwriter and singer in the way she hasn’t in a long time,” Goldsmith told People. “It’s so inspiring. Everyone that is a part of it, we’re always just making sure it’s something she identifies with. She’s our captain, she’s steering the ship and that’s how it should be. We’re really just there at her service and it’s been a true joy.”
So if you need us, we’ll be listening to this song on repeat, impatiently awaiting the new album.
