‘Making a Murderer’ Subject Brendan Dassey Is Expected to Be Released from Prison
Whoa. A federal appeals court has ruled that Making a Murderer's Brendan Dassey should walk free.
You may remember that a Wisconsin federal judge, William Duffin, overturned Dassey's 2007 murder conviction last August. But Dassey's release has been delayed (like, a lot) due to the appeals process. Now it seems Dassey's freedom is closer than ever. On Thursday, a federal appeals court agreed with Judge Duffin's decision that Dassey's confession to Teresa Halbach's 2005 murder was coerced and that he should be released. Unless the state of Wisconsin decides to retry Dassey within the next 90 days, he'll be a free man sooner rather than later.
And now we continue to wait on the edge of our seat for the second season of Making a Murderer. C'mon, Netflix...
