Maisie Williams is opening up about her final Game of Thrones scene, and we’re already getting major Arya Stark withdrawal.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, the actress discussed the eighth (and final) season of GoT and revealed that her last scene couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
“I ended on the perfect scene,” she said. “I was alone—shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone. But I was alone, and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches.”
This isn’t the first time she teased the end of the HBO series. Back in July, she posted a bloody photo on Instagram and confused fans with the hashtag: #lastwomanstanding.
Although she played Arya for seven years, Williams admitted that she’s ready to retire the character. “I got to the end and I didn’t want more,” she added. “I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.”
Welp, thanks for the reminder, Maisie. Game of Thrones returns in early 2019.
