Celebrity beauty launches are a dime a dozen. Some are rather unremarkable. (OK, regrettable.) Others make complete sense. Madonna’snew skin-care line, MDNA Skin, falls into the latter category. Case in point: The woman is pushing 60 and is still emanating rays of light. Like a virg… Oh, you get the point.
Initially, the eight-piece line launched in Japan, and after three years, it finally made its stateside debut yesterday at Barneys. All the products are encased in sleek, futuristic packaging and feature one key ingredient: mineral-rich thermal water from Italy.
As one might expect, beautifying like the Material Girl doesn’t come cheap. The products range from $50 for a face wash to $600 for the aforementioned magnetic face mask—which, to be fair, includes the clay mask itself and the high-tech device you use to remove it afterward.
We have a feeling that we won’t need to convince any die-hard Madonna fans out there, but for the skeptics, we’ll say this: The woman knows her skin care, has access to the best dermatologists in the world and is a perfectionist in every sense of the word, so we’re willing to bet her eye cream is pretty damn good.
