‘This Is Us’ Star Mackenzie Hancsicsak Sold Girl Scout Cookies at the SAG Awards

This Is Us budding entrepreneurship.

At the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Mackenzie Hancsicsak, who plays young Kate on This Is Us, took full advantage of her big night out and killed two birds with one stone. The 11-year-old actress brought Girl Scout cookies to sell to her fellow SAG Awards attendees, and we have to applaud her ingenuity…while nomming on a cookie, of course.

Hancsicsak teased her genius idea on Twitter before the show began, saying she would be wearing “a blue dress w/ @girlscouts thin mint cookies in my purse.” Welp, it must have been a huge purse because she later shared a photo of herself and co-star Parker Bates, who plays young Kevin on the hit drama, posing at their table with Samoas (aka our Achilles’ heel) for sale.

She captioned the snap, “If anyone at @SAGawards wants some @girlscouts cookies, I’m at table 34!” and fans were quick to commend her clever idea.

The Girl Scouts organization also caught wind of Hancsicsak’s sweet side hustle and gave her a major pat on the back. It reposted the pic on Instagram and wrote, “What happens when a Girl Scout heads to the #SAGAwards? She makes it a million times sweeter! Congrats to Cookie Entrepreneur @mackenziehancsicsak on becoming a SAG Award winner, too! We love you on @ThisIsUsNBC. #GirlScoutsRock.”

Hancsicsak and the award-winning series went home with the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for the second time in a row.

As for Hancsicsak’s sales, we’re still waiting on an update, but we’re guessing table 34 was a pretty popular stop-off.
