Lizzo received an outpour of birthday wishes on Monday, but nothing will compare to getting a special shoutout from none other than Beyoncé.
The "Good As Hell" singer shared her emotional reaction to finding out Queen Bey dedicated a post to her on her b-day. (And honestly, we’ll be freaking out too.) She shed tears in a series of Instagram stories before reposting the actual birthday message on her feed.
"Beyoncé wished me a happy birthday on her website," Lizzo said before breaking down. "She knows it’s my birthday. Thank you Beyoncé."
She continued in disbelief at the Lemonade singer’s gesture: "Oh my god, thank you Beyoncé. She knows I exist. I don’t know what to do with myself. Wow...I’m going to sit with that for a while."
Soon after, Lizzo shared the post to her 8.6 million followers, which is right on the front page of Beyoncé’s website.
Lizzo captioned the post, "YALL. @beyonce BEY YON SAY wished me a happy birthday BITCH ! I don’t know how to ACT. She is my inspiration to be a singer after seeing Destiny’s Child perform in the 5th grade...I LOVE YOU BEY! Thank you! Let me go drink some damn water."
This isn’t the first time Bey showed her appreciate for the singer. Last year, Lizzo posted a snapshot of herself performing at the Made in America concert with Beyoncé backstage watching her set and having a great time. (And yes, we’re still waiting for that dream collab.)
While getting a Beyoncé birthday message was a total dream come true moment, the "Juice" singer also received a Baby Yoda as a gift. Despite being quarantine, we’re glad to see Lizzo had a birthday she will never forget.
