Littlefinger Foreshadowed His Own Death on ‘GoT’ Seasons Ago

After years of manipulating the Starks and basically setting the War of the Five Kings into motion, Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish met his maker in the Game of Thrones season seven finale. High fives all around for the superb Stark sister collabo, but we couldn’t help but notice his death seemed eerily familiar, and for good reason.

Let’s refresh. In season one, smarmy Littlefinger ignited the wildfire of family drama between the Starks and the Lannisters by claiming Tyrion Lannister sent an assassin to kill Bran Stark with a Valyrian steel dagger. In (GoT) reality, Tyrion lost said Valyrian steel dagger in a bet. Then, in a later season one episode, Littlefinger holds the same dagger to Ned Stark's throat and chastises the patriarch for stupidly trusting him [Littlefinger] in the first place.

Cut to the season seven finale: Sansa Stark sentences Littlefinger to death for his many, many wrongdoings. Arya, who's really channeling her inner Ned Stark (the hair, the outfits...), steps in and slices the double-crosser's throat with the same Valyrian steel dagger he used to threaten her father in season one.

In the famous words of Justin Timberlake—what goes around, comes around, ooohhh. Bye, bye, bye, Littlefinger.
