Lisa Kudrow to Star in New Amazon Comedy, ‘Good People’—Here’s Everything We Know

lisa kudrow

Phoebe Buffay Lisa Kudrow is coming back to a TV (or computer screen) near you.

According to Deadline, the actress has signed on to star in Good People, a 30-minute Amazon comedy written by Lee Daniels (Empire) and Whitney Cummings (Two Broke Girls).

Per Deadline, "Good People revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman’s office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sex, race, class, and gender."

Kudrow is set to play Lynn Steele, the ombudsman, who finds herself being seen as out of touch by millennials, even though she's been a champion of women her entire career.

Cummings will also star in the pilot, and she, Kudrow and Daniels will executive produce. Daniels will also direct.

Come Thursday, you can catch Kudrow in Booksmart, Olivia Wilde's directorial debut about two over-achieving besties (Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein) who realize on the eve of their graduation that they may have hit the books a little too hard throughout their high school career. Kudrow plays Dever's mom.

Feldstein opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about what it was like working with Kudrow. "I was like, 'It's happening. I'm meeting Phoebe Buffay and Valerie Cherish. It's happening,'" she said. "I'm meeting Pheebs. And I didn't breathe the entire two days she was working cause I love her so much." Feldstein added, "She's a queen."

Agreed.
