‘Parent Trap’ Reunion! Lisa Ann Walter Brings Elaine Hendrix As Date to SAG Awards

This surprise Parent Trap reunion is giving us all the feels.

Last night, Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered in Los Angeles for the 2023 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. Abbott Elementary star Lisa Ann Walter had a brilliant-beyond-brilliant idea and brought an unexpected date to the 29th annual ceremony: her former co-star, Elaine Hendrix. (FYI, the actors starred as Chessy and Meredith Blake, respectively, in the 1998 version of The Parent Trap starring Lindsay Lohan.)

Hendrix, 52, wore a fitted tux that complemented Walter’s stunning off-the-shoulder gown. And honey, they’ve never looked better.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hendrix revealed that she was honored to serve as Walter’s plus-one. “Lisa Ann Walter asked me to show up as her date, so by golly I showed up as her date,” she said. Walter added, “She sure did. It’s the best-looking date in a tux I’ve ever had.”

Walter, 59, currently stars as Melissa Schemmenti in Abbott Elementary, which won the SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series. (Quinta Brunson was also nominated for Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series, but the award was given to Jean Smart for Hacks.)

Walter explained to EW how she “manifested” this moment. “This is a dress that I found about five years ago. and when I saw it, I was entirely unemployed,” she said. “I said, ‘I’m going to wear this to the SAG Awards, specifically.’”

We would pay big money for a friendship like this.
