Move Over, Jimmy Fallon: Lilly Singh Is Coming to Late-Night as the Only Female Host on a Major Network

It’s been a big week for Canadian YouTube comedian Lilly Singh. During a special visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Singh revealed that she will soon be hosting her own show on NBC.

“Ya girl is getting her own NBC late-night show!” she announced. Singh also gave us the name of the show. Drumroll please…A Little Late with Lilly Singh.

In a category dominated by male hosts (Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert to name a few) the 30-year-old comedian is officially the only female late-night host on a major television network. Umm, finally.

When asked what audiences can expect from the show, she said it would be similar to her current YouTube channel. If you didn’t know, Singh joined the video platform in 2010 and has since amassed more than 14 million subscribers (wow).

“I’m so excited because I truly get to create a show from scratch,” Singh said. “I get to make it inclusive, I get to create comedy segments, and interview people, and really create something that I believe in, and I’m so honored and humbled, truly.”

Fellow late-night host Seth Meyers also made an appearance to toast and welcome Singh to the NBC late-night family.

Congrats, Lilly! We’ll be patiently waiting for next fall when your show hits our TV.
