Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Confirm Lilibet Was Just Christened at Their California Home

It seems Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are keen on keeping their daughter, Lilibet, out of the public eye.

According to People magazine, a spokesperson has confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex held a private christening for the 1-year-old. The ceremony reportedly took place at the couple’s home in Montecito, California.

“I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor,” the rep told the mag.

The outlet didn’t share many details about who attended the christening, but it did report that Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, and Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, were in attendance. According to People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex extended invites to members of the royal family, including King Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton, but they weren’t able to make it. Royal aficionados also noticed that the couple’s rep referred to Lilibet as a princess for the very first time. The title change was a result of King Charles ascending the throne after Queen Elizabeth’s death. Now that Lilibet is a grandchild of the monarch, she can use the princess title in formal settings. The mag confirmed that the royal family’s official website will soon be updated to reflect these changes.

Princess Lilibet has an awfully nice ring to it.
