Wait, Will Lashana Lynch Play 007 in ‘Bond 25’? All the Details on Her Historic Role

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch is making history with her all-new role in Bond 25.

The 31-year-old actress is set to play 007 in the highly anticipated James Bond film, according to The Mail on Sunday. While Daniel Craig will reprise his iconic role, Lynch will reportedly step in as a new secret agent, who inherits his infamous codename.

If the rumors are true, Lynch will not only be the first female to play James Bond, but she’ll also be the first African American star to helm the famous role.

Although we don’t know much about Bond 25, the outlet reports that the movie will begin with viewers learning that the infamous spy has retired. However, when Bond is called in to help with a crisis, the film will drop a bombshell that we never saw coming.

“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in, 007.’ And in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” an insider told the outlet. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond, but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”

Lynch most recently starred in Captain Marvel, where she played Maria Rambeau—a former United States Air Force pilot nicknamed “Photon.” She also appeared in Crims, Doctors, Still Star-Crossed and Bulletproof.

Welp, we love this so much.
