These Are the Real-Life Rescue Dogs Starring in ‘Lady & the Tramp’
Step aside, The Lion King: There’s an all-new Disney reboot in town.
The studio just released a series of official photos from the Lady and the Tramp remake, and it gives us a first-look at the real-life dogs who will star in the upcoming movie.
The slideshow introduces us to the following dog-slash-actor pairings: Tessa Thompson (Westworld) as Lady, Justin Theroux (Parks and Recreation) as Tramp, Sam Elliott (A Star Is Born) as Trusty, Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty) as Jock, Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures) as Peg and Benedict Wong (Avengers: Endgame) as Bull.
As you can tell, the characters are as live-action as it gets, with real-life rescue dogs stepping in for the usually animated stars. The canines will be voiced by their celebrity counterparts, so prepare for a whole lot of CGI magic.
The remake was directed by Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago Movie), while Andrew Bujalski (Results) penned the script.
What cute little bundles…of trouble. Lady and the Tramp will premiere on November 12 on Disney’s brand-new streaming service, Disney+.
