We’re still slightly bummed that our invite for Princess Beatrice’s secret nuptials got lost in the mail, but (good news!) another royal-ish wedding is coming our way.
Lady Amelia Spencer (Princess Diana’s niece) is officially engaged to her boyfriend of 11 years, Greg Mallet. The bride’s dad, Charles, announced the exciting news on Twitter and confirmed that Mallet asked for his blessing prior to the proposal. Phew!
The photo was taken just moments before Spencer gave her new fiancé a celebratory smooch. The engagement ring features a circular diamond, which is set on a pavé band. So simple, yet so chic.
Charles captioned the post, “So happy for my daughter, Amelia, engaged to her boyfriend of 11 years, Greg. It’s wonderful to hear them both so excited about their future. Sending them both love and every good wish for their life together.”
“I love that Greg asked my blessing before proposing,” he added. “Very sweet.”
Mallet shared a similar photo on his personal Instagram account and wrote, “So this was the best day of my life. 22nd of July 2020, I asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me and she said YES. Couldn’t be happier and I love you with all my heart.”
Lady Amelia Spencer is the daughter of Charles (Princess Diana’s brother) and Victoria Lockwood. She has three siblings—Lady Kitty (29), Lady Eliza (28) and Louis, Viscount Althorp (26)—along with three half-siblings: Edmund (16), Lady Lara (13) and Lady Charlotte (8).
