Sweet Angel Kristen Bell Saved Josh Gad's Parents from Hurricane Irma
Kristen Bell was filming a movie in Orlando, Florida, when news of Hurricane Irma broke. Forced to stay and brave the storm, Bell soon learned her Frozen costar Josh Gad’s family was also in danger. And, since she has a heart of gold, she immediately brought them to her hotel to usher them to safety.
Gad gratefully shared the heartwarming news on Instagram, posting a selfie Bell took with his parents. He wrote, “So [Kristen Bell] literally saved my parents and my entire family tonight from #HurricaneIrma.” Gad (aka Olaf) continued, “When they were stranded in Florida, she got them a hotel room at her hotel in Orlando and saved them, my brothers, my sister-in-law and niece and nephew. They don’t make them like this girl. Thank you Kristin [sic]. You are truly an angel sent from above.”
But Bell’s generosity didn’t stop there.
The Frozen star visited nearby Meadow Woods Middle School and performed the film's song “For the First Time in Forever.” She shared a touching photo of her performance, writing, “When you’re #singinginahurricane your volunteer back up dancers can & will steal the show. Richard and Rebecca everyone!”
When she returned to her hotel, the actress learned thousands of senior citizens had also been placed there. Because she’s quite possibly a real-life angel, Bell rallied them for some bingo.
She took a selfie with a bingo card and captioned it, “We are gonna make lemonade outta Irma as best we can and I’m fueling up the only way I know how in order to call a few hours of BINGO!”
Bell took a special liking to one of the retirees and shared an Instagram video of him serenading her, along with a cheeky note to her husband: “Dear @daxshephard, this is John. He’s my side piece here in Orlando. I hope you understand. I’m powerless over a man who serenades me...”
Bless you and your beautiful soul, Kristen Bell.
