There’s no denying Kit Harington is phenomenal as Jon Snow, but after watching this never-before-seen clip of the actor’s additional Game of Thrones auditions, we’re kind of questioning his range.
In preparation for the long-awaited GoT season seven premiere this Sunday, Harington stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and gave Kimmel permission to air a very special and “exclusive” GoT audition tape. The tape features Harington auditioning for six different character roles and it is just divine. In the hilarious sketch our beloved Jon Snow reads for the roles of Cersei Lannister, Arya Stark, Ygritte (aka Harington's girlfriend IRL), Hodor, Daenerys Targaryen (commonly known as Khaleesi/our spirit animal) and a White Walker.
Harington gets especially into character for his Khaleesi audition and can be seen donning long, luscious golden locks, which are both lengthy and voluminous enough to conceal what he refers to as his (voluptuous) “dragons.” Further pushing the Westeros boundaries, the actor throws in an impromptu—perfectly natural to us—Harry Potter audition, to which the casting director reading opposite lines responds, “Harry Potter is not in Game of Thrones.” Potter Harington quips, “But what if he was?” We like the way you think, Jon Snow.
Only five moons left until we reunite with our broody, tousled-hair love once again.
