Bachelor Nation has another wedding to look forward to. (And no, it doesn’t involve anyone on the current season of Bachelor in Paradise.)
Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch are officially engaged, according to People magazine. You probably remember the reality TV couple from last season of BiP, where they met and fell in love on the beaches of Mexico.
Wendt reportedly popped the question during a sunset picnic in Toronto, Canada, where they currently reside. “I actually forgot what I said. I just remember, it was a no-brainer to marry her,” he said. “I see her more as my family than any kind of girlfriend, and I just knew I couldn’t ever let her go.”
The firefighter, 35, proposed with a custom cushion-cut diamond ring from his family’s store, Wendt’s Jewellery. The accessory holds a special place in his heart, since his family has stayed loyal to the shop for the past 135 years. Although he didn’t opt for a Neil Lane sparkler, Wendt confirmed that he designed the ring himself.
