In the clip, Ripa reveals that she’s wearing the Wakuna Knotted Midi Dress by Essentiel Antwerp. After repeating the designer name, she says, “I think it’s groovy. Very Carol Brady.” Ripa is obviously referring to the fictional matriarch in The Brady Bunch (played by the late Florence Henderson).
The piece features a “groovy” geometric pattern, a V-neckline, elbow-length sleeves and a fixed knot at the waist. The Essentiel dress is currently available for purchase on Shopbop for $325.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen behind-the-scenes footage featured on the Live with Kelly and Ryan Instagram account. Last week, producers shared a video of Ripa’s (narrowly avoided) wardrobe malfunction.
Although the talk show host was donning an army green dress by Adam Lippes, it wasn’t her first choice. Ripa was supposed to wear a different outfit, but it wasn’t long enough to cover her knees and, therefore, wasn’t appropriate for live television.
The last-minute costume change came just a few days after Ripa realized she was donning the same dress she wore on a previous episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan. Whoops!
