Kelly Ripa Just Revealed a Brilliant Trick for Dealing with Gray Hairs

To the untrained eye, Kelly Ripa is a mega-celebrity who is never seen in public with so much as a hair out of place. In the star's own words, however, "I’m just a girl trying to put on a TV show through the computer." She may be a girl with a TV show, but she's also a girl with a genius trick for hiding gray hairs.

At the beginning of Live with Kelly and Ryan on May 14, Ripa realized—a second too late—that she had forgotten to take two clips out of her hair. Why were they there? To hide her grays.

Ripa explained, "Gray hair has a different texture. Anyone with gray hair can tell you, it’s very wired. It tends to stand up." In addition to darkening her roots with a root spray, she seems to use the clips to force the grays to point in the direction of the rest of her hair, thereby minimizing their appearance.

This isn't the first time the star has been open about her hair struggles in quarantine. Back in March, Ripa, 49, posted a photo on her Instagram Story that showed her posing in what appears to be a towel. The focus, though, was on her perfectly parted hair, which had visible gray roots poking through. She captioned the post, “Root watch week one.”

Thanks for keeping it real (and for the trick), Kelly!
