Kelly Ripa Fans Have *Thoughts* About Her Latest Shoe Choice. Here’s Why

When it comes to her style, Kelly Ripa (and her wardrobe team) aren’t afraid to take some risks. That’s why when we saw her wear a pair of yellow pumps with a pink and black ensemble, we weren’t necessarily surprised. However, a few fans weren’t as receptive to the choice as we were. Allow us to explain.

On Thursday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the 50-year-old TV personality looked chic in a black-and-white polka dot blouse with a neon pink skirt. The top was from Italian brand Valentino and featured long-sleeves and a necktie (which Ripa opted to leave untied), while the skirt was from Christopher Kane.

And while Ripa is no stranger to pairing patterns and bright colors, it was her choice in footwear that had social media users talking. To top off her look, the All My Children alum rocked a pair of yellow pumps.

It wasn’t long before followers (who apparently want to moonlight as fashion critics) shared their opinions in the comments section of an Instagram video posted on the official Live account. “Black heels would be better,” one user wrote, while another added, “Yellow shoes don’t match this outfit.” Tough crowd.

Luckily, there were also a handful of positive comments from fans including one stan who wrote, “I love that skirt! You always look fantabulous Kelly!” Another added, “I can’t imagine looking so pretty every single day how does she do it.” Our sentiments exactly.

This isn’t the first time the brightly colored heels have made an appearance on the morning show. In fact, in September, Ripa paired them with another vibrant outfit—a red dress with a black leopard-like print.

So, while we by no means consider ourselves fashion experts, we believe there’s nothing wrong with having fun with a pair of yellow pumps. We might even go out and buy a pair of our own.
