Kelly Ripa Brought Two Very Special Guests on Today’s Episode of ‘Live’

There’s nothing we love more than when Kelly Ripa’s family makes a surprise appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan. (We’re looking at you, Mark and Michael.) However, on today’s episode, she switched things up and opted to bring along her four-legged family members instead.

On Wednesday, the producers of the hit morning show shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the special installment, featuring footage of Ripa’s pups making their grand entrance on stage. “Lena and Chewie are here!!!” the post’s caption reads.

In the clip, we see the 51-year-old TV personality, Ryan Seacrest and the furry pals making their way to their seats. Ripa lifts Lena up to her chair, while Seacrest brings Chewie along. The American Idol star even opens up about why his labrador retriever, Georgia, couldn’t make it for the special episode.

“Georgia’s on the west coast having speaking engagements, she’s touring,” Seacrest quips. “She stayed in California. Usually, when I leave, she runs out with me and this time as I was leaving she backed up. So, I think she likes the yard, and I think she likes to run around.”

While Chewie has been in the Consuelos/Ripa family for a while, the mother of three revealed in March that the family decided to adopt Lena (a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix), who first appeared on the talk show as part of their Happy Pets segment.

In the words of Seacrest himself, “This is just pure joy.”
