Kelly Ripa Says She Doesn't Blame Daughter Lola for Thinking She and Husband Mark Consuelos Are ‘Repulsive’

When it comes to embarrassing their children on social media, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are borderline professionals. 

PureWow sat down with the Live with Kelly and Ryan host to chat about her newest partnership with Persona Nutrition, a personalized vitamin program. During the interview, the mother of three opened up about a recent comment her daughter made on one of Ripa’s recent Instagram posts. 

In case you missed it, the 49-year-old shared some behind-the-scenes images from the Oscars earlier this month. One post, in particular, featured a slow-motion video of a friend coming out from underneath her Christian Siriano gown. The pic quickly caught the attention of her hubby who commented on the post, “Been there..” Very clever. 

But the couple’s 18-year-old daughter had something to say about her parents' PDA: “Repulsive”. So, of course, we had to ask her about it. 

“Well, Lola finds us to be repulsive as she’s probably stated on numerous occasions,” said Ripa. “I don’t necessarily disagree with her. I believe that I found my parents equally as repulsive when I was her age. Only we didn’t have the benefit of having social media in those days so who knows if our parents were repulsive? We could only scream it at night into our pillows.” So. True.

But, of course, it’s all in good fun. Ripa also revealed out of her three children, Lola definitely is the most outspoken. 

“All of our kids are really funny. They all have great senses of humor,” she continued. “Lola has definitely been the family spokesperson since the day she was born. And so, she’s not afraid to put her feelings out there publicly. And because her social media name is so different, people oftentimes don’t know she’s our daughter and they think she’s a troll and they will try to troll her back and she doesn’t care. She’s unbothered, unflappable and unruffulable. She finds it all very funny.”

Sounds like one fun family.
