Everything to Know About Kelly Ripa's 50th Birthday Celebration
It looks like Kelly Ripa had a fabulous 50th birthday, complete with sparkly balloons, a brass band and a giant Fudgie the Whale cake.
The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host was showered with love and birthday wishes on Friday's episode, which included a visit from her son, Michael (22), and a surprise message from the Oprah Winfrey. She told Ripa, "Who you are meant to be comes through in full force in this decade, so celebrate all the goodness to come."
Aside from her sweet video tributes, Ripa was also treated to a bunch of colorful balloons in her dressing room. And not surprisingly, Ryan Seacrest went above and beyond by getting the musical group, Breakdown Brass, to surprise the birthday girl with a live performance after the show. Ripa showed her impressive dance moves as they played their rendition of Madonna's "Like a Prayer." On Instagram, the group wrote, "Thanks again @ryanseacrest @livekellyandryan for having us surprise Kelly Ripa on her birthday!"
The TV host also gave fans an inside look at the day's festivities on her personal Instagram account. She wrote, "Thank you! Yes you, and everyone who made me feel so loved. I am 50. There. I said it #birthday #50."
The series of photos include stunning white floral arrangements from Mark Consuelos, a gorgeous rainbow surprise cake, and a shot of Ripa herself rocking a colorful gown and ponytail. Her famous pals showed their love in the comments, including actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who wrote, "Wish I could hug you."
Consuelos joined in on the fun by posting a rather flirty birthday tribute on Instagram. Alongside a few pics of Ripa in a floral dress, he wrote, "Happy birthday to my little ray of sunshine. I love you, sexy [heart emojis]."
And as for Ripa's children (Michael, Lola and Joaquin), they not only gifted her with orange and red flowers, but also shared a video tribute, explaining what they loved to do with her. On Instagram, she wrote, “Best kids ever!!!! Love you three.”
Thanks for letting us all celebrate along with you, Ripa!
