Katy Perry isn’t letting a little thing like childbirth stop her from making major moves in her career. The “Never Really Over” singer just released her latest album from the comfort of her hospital bed. Literally.
On Friday, the American Idol judge announced the big news by sharing an animated video of herself wearing a clown nose and crying tears (which includes the names of each song on the album).
“IT’S HERE! IT’S REALLY HERE! I finally got back my smile! Hope this record puts one on your face #SMILE IS OUT EVERYWHERE NOW! LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH ENJOY (sent from my hospital bed lol),” she captioned the Instagram post.
This is Perry’s fifth studio album and probably one of the most meaningful, considering one of the songs shares the name of her baby girl: Daisy.
Since its release, both Perry and Bloom have openly revealed that “Daisies” is their favorite song on the album. Other songs on the tracklist include, “Never Really Over,” “Never Worn White,” “Smile,” “Tucked,” “Harley’s in Hawaii” and more.
The album release comes one day after the “Firework” singer and Orlando Bloom shared the news via UNICEF's Instagram account that they had welcomed their first child together. The couple later reshared the same post on their own accounts.
Part of the caption read, “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”
In addition to the exciting news, the couple also revealed the first photo of their daughter.
