Katie Holmes Confirms It’s Cool to Wears Socks with Sandals

Katie Holmes has continued to push the boundaries of high-fashion footwear. First, she wore high-heeled sandals while out and about and now she broke a cardinal shoe rule at Milan Fashion Week (but looked majorly chic while doing it).

It all started when the 40-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum set out for the Fendi spring/summer 2020 show yesterday and memorialized the occasion with a single eyebrow-raising Instagram photo.

As you’ll notice above, Holmes shared a photo of herself wearing sheer printed socks with heeled sandals and a very cute dress. It’s bold, it’s rule-breaking and, most importantly, it looks kind of cute.

She failed to mention her supposed fashion faux-pas in her caption and simply wrote, “So excited to attend the @fendi show #Milan” with a heart emoji that matched her printed frock.

At the show, Holmes sat front row (and oddly looked a lot like Kate Middleton). Thanks to snaps from the event, we were able to see her full outfit, which, in addition to her shoe and sock combo, included a crimson tiered Fendi number with a tie neck, a matching red blazer with patent-leather piping and large pearl drop earrings.

She carried a black leather crossbody bag to complete the look and wore her chic bob in loose waves.

This isn’t the first time Katie Holmes has made us rethink our fashion guidelines in 2019 and something tells us it won’t be the last. Here’s to getting out of our comfort zones, Katie.
