Kate Middleton Sports Chic Blue Blazer During Latest Zoom Engagement for International Day of the Midwife

Kate Middleton is celebrating International Day of the Midwife, and she’s doing it in style.

In honor of the holiday, the Duchess of Cambridge participated in a Zoom interview with community Nurse Midwife, Harriet Nayiga, for the latest edition of Nursing Times. The event also marked the completion of Nursing Now, a three-year global campaign aimed toward raising the status and profile of nursing.

Middleton shared a slideshow of photos on the official social media account she shares with Prince William (@kensingtonroyal). It features a snap of the duchess on the virtual call with Nayiga, followed by the magazine cover (which Middleton chose).

“Today is the International Day of the Midwife,” the post’s caption read. “Harriet spoke to The Duchess about her work in Uganda as a nurse and as the founder of MILCOT (Midwife-led Community Transformation), a community organization providing advice and support for vulnerable women and girls.”

For the occasion, the 39-year-old royal looked stunning in black trousers, a simple black top and a chic cobalt blazer by Zara, which features double-breasted buttons, statement shoulders and large buttons. She topped off her look with a half-up, half-down hairstyle. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the jacket is already sold out online.

We’re not surprised the duchess opted to wear blue, which is the official color of the NHS and symbolic of nurses in general. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, people across the U.K. have been showing their support by lighting up their businesses and homes with the color. Even Middleton has sported blue on multiple occasions in the last year, especially when honoring frontline workers.
