Kate Middleton & Prince William Shared a Rare Moment of PDA & We Almost Missed It

Maybe it was because we were so busy watching Kate Middleton attempt to win a prize at the claw machine, but somehow we almost managed to miss a sweet moment of PDA shared between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their royal engagement last week.

ICYMI: During a recent trip to Wales, the royal couple paid a visit to Barry Island and spoke with local business owners about the impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on the tourism industry. The duo also spent time playing arcade games and showing off their competitive sides.

But in the midst of all the fun and games were a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments of rare PDA between William and Kate. One of them occured when the 38-year-old duchess placed her hand on her husband's back while he took a stab at the claw machine. The official Kensington Royal Instagram account even captured the moment and shared the photograph in a post.

“Thank you Wales for the lovely reception yesterday,” part of the caption read. “It was great to see communities and businesses starting to get back up and running, following a difficult few months for the tourism industry and the wider economy.”

That wasn’t the only time the mother of three broke royal protocol regarding no public displays of affection. While the couple took turns throwing balls at targets, Middleton again placed her hand on the prince’s back. Of course, the duo remained entirely professional for the entirety of the outing.

Perhaps it was the laid back arcade atmosphere that had these two a little more casual than usual. Regardless, we love to see it.
