Cameras Caught Kate Middleton and Prince William Laughing About How Awkward They Were at the BAFTAs

During Sunday night's BAFTAs (basically the British Oscars), Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped out to celebrate British Film and TV stars. And while we all saw their now-viral grand entrance, which we even thought looked like something out of Cinderella, the reality was soooooooo awkward.

Apparently, and according to video from Global News, there was no sound. No instrumental track playing as they glided down the steps, no clapping, no announcer...just SILENCE. Warning: This video will make you cringe (we actually started nervous-sweating just thinking about not tripping down those stairs).

See?! The most awkward 100 seconds of our lives.

Thankfully, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge know how to laugh off these weird little moments like pros. Middleton turns to the woman seated behind them, and can be seen saying, "It's so quiet!" to which they both laugh. William does something similar, and chuckles with the woman seated next to him.

For the event, the duchess wore a princess-like one-shoulder white gown with floral details by Alexander McQueen and, most notably, accessorized with a pair of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s massive diamond, pearl and silver earrings.

Claire Foy may no longer portray young Queen Elizabeth on Netflix’s The Crown (that role is being handed over to Olivia Colman for season three), but she still fangirls over the royals, as evidenced by the now-viral photo taken of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s grand entrance.

Exhibit A: Here's Claire Foy on the red carpet before the awards show started (and possibly before she even realized Kate and Wills were there.)

And here she is after.

Yes, ladies and gents, this is what she looked like as the grandchildren of her Crown character stepped into the room.

Welp, at least someone (Claire Foy) was enjoying that awkward entrance. Love ya, Claire.
