Kate Middleton Wore the Chicest Combat Boots We've Ever Seen on a Royal Day Trip
Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the spot where the duchess used to vacation as a kid during their day trip to England's Lake District on Tuesday.
The Cambridges, who looked sporty casual in jeans, greeted crowds in Keswick, Cumbria. The duchess wore a brown military coat by TROY London ($365) and her chunky Chloe boots (a royal rewear) with black skinny jeans and her hair in a voluminous half-braided ponytail. The duke wore a pullover sweater and collared shirt under a navy blazer with dark-wash denim.
According to People, Middleton "enjoyed a lot of family holidays in the nearby area known as Lake District when she was growing up."
Earlier this month, the duchess wrote a note during the Chelsea Flower Show that said one of her favorite childhood memories was "boulder hopping in the Lake District," and signed "Catherine," according to Town & Country.
After a walkabout in Keswick, the royal couple headed to a farm to help shear sheep and learn more about the area's mountain rescue services and a drugs advisory group, causes that are both near and dear to the Cambridges' hearts.
William, who was a former search and rescue pilot, and Kate, who has been working with charities that tackle addiction, were able to chat with leaders and representatives of the organizations.
During their walk through the town, Middleton and William were reunited with three dogs, called Max, Paddy and (cheekily named) Prince Harry, they had met previously at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party last month.
According to royal correspondent Rebecca English via Twitter, Middleton had knelt down to pet the dogs at the palace during the garden party, and she and William were so smitten with the pups, who are all trained therapy dogs, that they invited them to meet them in their hometown of Keswick during their visit.
We wonder if the Cambridges snapped a photo to send to their dog-loving brother-in-law, whose namesake the English springer spaniel shares. Oh, and it gets better. Spaniel Prince Harry's full name is Prince Harry of Winterfell.
Game of Thrones, Prince Harry and dogs? Best. Day. Ever.
