As far as the story goes, Prince William and Kate Middleton met when they were only sophomores at the University of St. Andrews in 2002. The meet-cute occurred at a charity fashion show on campus, where Middleton had volunteered to model and Prince William was seated front row. Although the Duchess of Cambridge was dating somebody else at the time, she quickly caught the prince's eye. And by 2004, the two were dating and the rest is royal history.
However, now, according to a claim made in the book Kate: The Future Queen, which was shared by Express, author Katie Nicholl believes that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may have crossed paths at a much earlier time.
Nicholl reports that the two were enrolled at nearby prep schools when they were only 9 years old. Middleton was a student at St. Andrew's Prep, while Prince William attended Ludgrove Prep. And one day, according to the royal expert, the duke visited St. Andrew's Prep for a hockey game. “Although she wasn’t especially interested in boys, the arrival of one particular young man had caught her attention,” Nicholl writes in her book.
