Kate Middleton Rocks Black Statement Blazer in Video Teasing Huge Upcoming Announcement

Remember last week when Kate Middleton had a secret meeting at the Natural History Museum? Well, we finally have some answers as to why she was visiting one of her favorite tourist spots in London.

Turns out, as patron of the NHM, the Duchess of Cambridge will be announcing the winner of this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year for the competition’s first virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday evening (yep, that’s tonight). The 38-year-old royal teased the big news while on location at the museum’s famous Hintze Hall in a video clip shared on the Kensington Royal Instagram.

“It is so wonderful to be back at the reopened Natural History Museum, where we can all enjoy its treasures once again," Middleton says in the clip. "I'm here because tomorrow night I'm announcing the 56th Wildlife Photographer of the Year. I've been lucky enough to have a quick preview and I can say it's truly spectacular. I can't wait for you all to see it.”

For the occasion, Middleton looked chic in an all-black ensemble featuring a long-sleeved top and a pair of black trousers. The highlight of the outfit? A fitted black blazer (reportedly from Alexander McQueen) with statement shoulders. Middleton topped off the sophisticated look with minimalist pearl teardrop earrings and her hair in long, beachy waves.

The event (which is the world's longest-running and most prestigious wildlife photography competition) is of major importance to the duchess, considering she has a passion for photography herself.

“Thank you to all those who entered for showing us the magic of the natural world, and for reminding us that caring for our environment and its precious biodiversity has never been more important,” Middleton concluded.
