All the Deets on Kate Hudson’s 2 Engagement Rings from Danny Fujikawa

ICYMI: Kate Hudson recently announced that she’s engaged to her beau, Danny Fujikawa. Although she posted a photo on Instagram of what appeared to be a vintage engagement ring, the 42-year-old actress later stepped out for the Met Gala and wore a different accessory on that finger.

This led us to conclude that Fujikawa must have given Hudson not one, but two engagement rings. That’s when we turned to the jewelry experts at H&T, who shared insight on each of the sparklers and estimated how much they cost. Keep scrolling for details.

Ring #1

When Hudson shared the exciting news on social media, she posted a selfie of herself and her new fiancé. On her left hand, she’s wearing a vintage ring that features a combination of pearls, rubies and diamonds. According to Ben Jarrett from H&T, “The first one posted to her Instagram looks like a vintage style engagement ring and seems to be made of two different color metals, likely two colors of gold.”

As for the cost, Jarrett explained, “This ring is probably worth $10,000, but due to its vintage style, [it] may hold more sentimental value to the couple.”

Ring #2

At the Met Gala, Hudson walked the red carpet in a stunning two-piece ensemble by Michael Kors. However, we couldn’t take her eyes off her new engagement ring, which seemingly replaced the vintage one. “Kate was also spotted wearing a much larger ring at the Met Gala this week,” Jarrett said. “It appears to be a 10 to 12 carat champagne color diamond with a fine diamond set band.”

Jarrett went on to explain why this particular gem comes with a hefty price tag, adding, “These types of diamonds are notoriously difficult to value as they do not fit into a color ‘category’ as white diamonds do. Instead, they are ‘one off’ and—as such—can be extremely expensive.”

He continued, “Without a diamond certificate, it is harder to determine the exact value of this ring, but due to the weight of the stone and the fact that champagne diamonds are currently in high demand, we believe this ring would retail close to $1 million.” Just let that sink in.
