Kate Beckinsale had the best reaction when a news publication mistook her for Kate Middleton.
It all started earlier this week when the 45-year-old actress shared a selfie on Instagram and revealed that she’s being treated in the hospital for a ruptured ovarian cyst.
She wrote, “Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry. So thankful to everyone who looked after me #wobbly.”
It didn’t take long for news outlets to pick up the story, including USA Today, who accidentally used a photo of the duchess, 37, instead of Beckinsale.
So, Beckinsale re-shared the article on her personal Instagram account and addressed her new role as a member of the royal family, writing, “So moved and touched by all the kind wishes I have received over the last few days and staggered by the similar and worse stories my #cysters have been sending me. I am feeling much better and I hope all the other girls going through it are too. Back to resume my royal duties, William says hi.”
Of course, it didn’t take long for her followers to join in on the fun. Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) cracked a funny in the comments section, writing, “Tell Meghan I say hi!” Followed by Rose McGowan (Charmed): “You made us proud, duchess.”
