It’s official: Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars season 29.
Chris Harrison announced the exciting news during last night’s episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons—Ever! While Bristowe has been wanting to join DWTS for quite some time, the Bachelor Nation host didn’t cut to the chase right away. Instead, he tricked Bristowe into thinking that her boyfriend, Jason Tartick, was proposing. (Savage.)
During the video chat, Harrison invited Tartick to join the conversation. Bristowe (who used to be a professional dancer) was shocked when she realized that Tartick might be in on the host’s surprise.
After revealing he’s an “ordained minister,” Harrison added, “In all seriousness, I do have a very real question for you, Kaitlyn. This is a question I’m so excited to ask you because, well, your life is about to change.”
“What?!” Bristowe asked before turning to Tartick. “Do you know about this?”
Finally, Harrison spilled the beans: “Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?”
In typical Bristowe fashion, she rambled on about the honor before answering, “Yes!” “I feel like this is back to the moment where you told me I was the Bachelorette,” she said. “That is the last thing in the world I thought you were going to say. I thought you were going to ask me to take over your job…I don’t know.”
After Hannah Brown’s win on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars, Bristowe has some big dancing shoes to fill.
