Julia Louis-Dreyfus Broke a Historic SAG Awards Record…in Her PJs
Julia Louis-Dreyfus wasn’t able to attend last night’s SAG Awards, but she still managed to break an important record from the comfort of her living room.
The Veep star, who shared her breast cancer diagnosis last September, snagged the statuettes for both Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, making her the historic proud owner of nine SAG awards, the most ever.
Though Louis-Dreyfus wasn’t able to accept the awards in person due to her health, she took to Twitter to share her cheeky acceptance speech.
I wish I could have been @SAGawards tonight but have to admit it's pretty fun to watch in my pj's. So honored to win. So proud to be a union member. So happy for my @VeepHBO bozos for winning ensemble award. Miss being at the table with you all. How was the chicken?— Julia Louis-Dreyfus (@OfficialJLD) January 22, 2018
Presenters Mandy Moore and Connie Britton accepted the actor’s solo award, and Matt Walsh (who plays Mike on Veep) gave her a shoutout during the ensemble acceptance speech.
One thing’s for sure: pajamas > Spanx.
