Jordan Rodgers is opening up about the brand-new engagement ring he gave to his fiancée, JoJo Fletcher, and all we have to say is…she’s one lucky gal.
The sports commentator, 31, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow, where he discussed his surprise re-proposal to the former Bachelorette, 28. Rodgers, who is currently promoting his partnership with CheapTickets, revealed that he came up with the idea on his own.
“We hadn’t necessarily planned on getting a new ring, but we had planned originally on just resetting the ring we had from the TV show,” he said.
Although Rodgers initially proposed with a Neil Lane sparkler, he felt inclined to find something that was equally as meaningful. “I had always behind closed doors and in my own mind wanted to get an entirely new ring—something I paid for, something that was also special to us, as well,” he continued.
So, he teamed up with the Ring Concierge and scheduled a fake “work trip” to throw Fletcher off. “I went on a work trip,” Rodgers added. “I didn’t tell JoJo that I went back and designed the ring and purchased it, and she had absolutely no idea that was going to happen.”
As for the design, Rodgers admitted that he knew exactly what Fletcher was looking for. “I knew what she was looking for,” he said. “And she would always kind of, like, show pictures of things that she loved.”
Fletcher’s “Whisper Thin Oval Ring” features a large circular diamond set on a super-thin band. While the accessory has a hidden halo of smaller gems, it can only be seen upon closer inspection.
