The Jonas Brothers Spent a Year in Therapy Before Their Big Reunion

ICYMI: The Jonas Brothers are back. But they didn’t get the band together again without putting in some work.

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas visited The Late Late Show with James Corden last night and explained that before teaming up again, the brothers went through a lot of therapy.

Newly married Nick spilled the therapy tea and revealed that for the entire year prior to releasing their new single “Sucker,” the brothers sought professional help to get back on the same page.

The 26-year-old singer explained, “We literally spent a year basically doing therapy, working through some things, and figuring out what this chapter would look like. We’ve had to be really open and honest. There are things in the past that bothered us from time to time, even in our performances that we would do.”

Once everything was out in the open, the trio felt it was the right time to reunite. They were filming a new Amazon Studios documentary at the time that centered on their transition from Disney kids to pop stars.

“It was gonna be a story about where we are today,” Nick explained. “And that was, separate lives doing separate things—Joe with DNCE, and me with my solo stuff.”

But he admitted there was a “magic” they all felt they were missing that led them to try and give it another shot. Once they started playing together they knew they’d made the right decision.

A lot has changed for the brothers since they split in 2013. Aside from their separate projects and less Justin Bieber–esque haircuts, they’ve all married (well, Joe is almost there) and started their own adult lives.

As true Jo-Bro heads, we can’t wait to see what’s next. (Fingers crossed for more Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner video cameos.)
