Either Johnny Depp is really taking this whole method actor thing seriously or he’s legit morphing into a pirate.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star surprised fans yesterday when he showed up at Disneyland and had a little fun on the ride that inspired his film franchise.
Just imagine it. You arrive at Disneyland with little ones in hand, prepared to relive your childhood dreams and spend $100 on chicken fingers. Weaving your way through the mouse-eared park goers, you give yourself a pat on the back for finding the Pirates of the Caribbean ride so effortlessly. You shuffle your way through the line, high on the aroma of a nearby churro stand, and buckle the kids in for a ride on the Seven Seas. Just then, Johnny Depp (or just a disheveled man in a pirate costume) stumbles along the bank wielding his sword and mumbling pirate idiosyncrasies.
But, no, this is not a random park employee or animatronic Captain Jack Sparrow. It's the real freaking deal and you are three feet from him. Life. Made.
As one might imagine, Pirates fans went bananas for Depp's cameo (because, duh) and immediately pulled out their phones to capture the Disney magic.
Mmm, loving Depp's warm reception in this fan video. We haven't gotten that excited since attending our first *NSYNC concert.
