It appears John Legend is well aware of his uncanny resemblance to Arthur, a cartoon aardvark.
In the new commercial for Google Duo, Legend video chats with his personal stylist (aka his wife, Chrissy Teigen) while trying on various outfits. Although the soon-to-be mother of two seems uninterested at first, it’s the singer’s last outfit that gets her attention.
That’s right, Legend re-created the famous Arthur meme by donning the same yellow sweater and blue pants the animated character wears in the children’s series. When Teigen points out the striking resemblance, the singer responds by clenching his fist a la Arthur.
The internet first picked up on the pair’s resemblance when a side-by-side photo went viral on Twitter. Teigen caught wind of the comparison and, of course, joined in on the fun.
She wrote, “John when you tell him he looks like Arthur.”
The rest, as they say, is history.
