JoAnna Garcia Swisher Wraps Production on ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 2 with BTS Post

If you’ve already binge-watched all of Virgin River season three, then you’ll be pleased to know that another beloved series is coming back sooner than expected.

We’re talking about Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, which is returning for season two. Earlier this month, JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Maddie) posted a time-lapse video on Instagram, which was taken just a few hours before she wrapped production on the new episodes of Sweet Magnolias.

The video shows Swisher sitting in a trailer, while makeup artist Stevie Symonette-Martin perfects her glam. The actress is wearing a Maddie-approved outfit: a floral button-down dress with statement sleeves.

The caption read, “Last day in the chair with my sister, @symartmakeup as we wrap up season 2 of #sweetmagnoliasnetflix! Bittersweet feelings because I’m going to miss this group so much. But I’m so proud and EXCITED for all of you to see what we have been cooking up in Serenity and can’t wait for this dream team of a cast and crew to (hopefully!) be reunited ASAP to continue the journey!”

Sweet Magnolias, which is based on Sherryl Woods’s book series, tells the story of three grown women—Maddie (Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley) and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott)—who were born and raised in Serenity, South Carolina. As adults, they’re dealing with several issues, like divorce, dating and entrepreneurship. Season two is expected to pick up right where we left off in the first installment, which concluded with Kyle (Logan Allen) crashing his mom’s car.

Thank you, JoAnna, we really needed this.
