If you, like us, have ever thought, “This Stranger Things is good, but I wish it were an ’80s sitcom,” it looks like your wish has been granted (for three minutes, at least).
Last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! featured the mashup of our dreams: Perfect Strangers meets Stranger Things—or Perfect Stranger Things.
If you’re not up to snuff on your ’80s sitcoms, Perfect Strangers follows Larry (Mark Linn-Baker), who’s just a *regular* Chicago guy, as his life is interrupted by the sudden arrival of his distant Greek cousin Balki (Bronson Pinchot). Hijinks ensue.
Jimmy Kimmel’s spinoff throws another player into the mix. Meet Dem O’Gorgon, Balki’s sister’s uncle’s dog’s nephew, who just needs a place to stay. As it turns out, Dem comes with a little baggage (read: terror) and a lot of slime. Not to be missed: a trick-or-treat snafu featuring the entire Stranger Things gang. But as you know, it’s all just a part of living together. Cue the “dance of joy” and the strangest theme song we’ve ever heard. And wait until you see who’s in that Demogorgon suit.
The only question we have: When does season one drop?
