Jennifer Lopez & Shakira Are Headlining the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show

Jennifer Lopez is currently promoting her new film Hustlers, all while planning a wedding with her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez. But that doesn’t mean the 50-year-old singer is too busy to take the stage at Super Bowl LIV alongside fellow musician Shakira.

The two stars are teaming up to headline the halftime show during the 2020 football game. They announced the news today by sharing a series of promotional photos on social media.

J.Lo kicked things off on Twitter and posted a photo of herself with the caption, “This is happening. 02.02.20.”

She followed up with a pic of herself and Shakira, writing, “Going to set the world on [fire emoji].”

Shakira also shared the same photo on her personal Twitter account and wrote, “It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage!”

While fans have been petitioning for Lopez to perform at the Super Bowl for quite some time, the singer’s schedule was far too crammed to make it work.

However, there is one major factor that makes the upcoming game an ideal scenario for the “On the Floor” singer: Super Bowl LIV will take place at Hard Rock Stadium, which is located in Miami.

The beach city holds a special place in J.Lo’s heart—not only did she previously own waterfront property in the Florida town, but it’s also where her fiancé grew up. Miami Beach even declared July 24 as Jennifer Lopez Day in honor of her 50th birthday this year. (NBD.)
